Faruk Özlü – Güzelbahçe: Luxury Villa Interior Architecture with Sea Views

Güzelbahçe is a prestigious residential district south of İzmir, notable for its Aegean Sea views. The Faruk Özlü villa was designed to fully realise this view.

View-Centred Design

Every room was positioned to maximise the view facing the Aegean. The living room opened to the sea with a full-facade glazing system. A 180-degree Aegean view was achieved from the bedroom balcony.

Teak Decking

Teak is the classic material of seafaring. In this villa, the use of teak decking both on interior terraces and the exterior terrace added nautical aesthetics to the project. Teak's tropical climate resistance perfectly adapted to Güzelbahçe's semi-tropical summers.

Glass and Frame

To frame the view, glass surface size was maximised. At sunset, light filtering through the glass created a golden atmosphere inside. External roller blinds were integrated for solar control.

Interior Details

To balance the coolness of concrete and glass, warm materials were chosen inside: travertine-effect porcelain floor, teak timber accessories, leather chairs.

Result

The Faruk Özlü villa is an exemplary project demonstrating how view value can guide architectural and interior architecture decisions.
