Kirkagaç Military Café (170 sqm, Manisa) is a sister project completing the Foça project. The experience of designing cafés in two different cities, in two different institutional environments, has given WELL MIMARLIK valuable expertise in the institutional café category.

Project Summary

Location: Kirkagaç, Manisa Area: 170 sqm Material Palette: Exposed concrete / Walnut veneer Year: 2025

Differentiation from Foça

Although both projects are in the same institutional café category, different material and colour decisions were made because they serve different cities and different user profiles. In Kirkagaç, exposed concrete and walnut veneer established a harder, more masculine language.

Exposed Concrete Aesthetic

Exposed concrete brings an industrial hardness and honesty. This character corresponded to the institutional discipline environment. Walnut veneer balanced this hardness with warmth.

Functional Organisation

Service counter, seating area, and WC block within 170 sqm were positioned to provide a compact but comfortable user experience. Natural light was prioritised in entrance and main seating areas.

Result

Kirkagaç Military Café is a special study, forming a series together with the Foça project, demonstrating that a strong identity can be established in institutional café projects regardless of the size of the space.
