O.Y. Villa is an example demonstrating how consistently sustained natural material preference creates a powerful architectural identity. Designed drawing inspiration from Foça stone houses, this villa integrated modern elements with a traditional material language.

Project Summary

Location: Sasalı, İzmir Material Palette: Local stone / Teak timber / Brushed steel Category: Residential – Villa

Design Concept

"Nature and Modernism" became this project's two pillars. Local stone was kept raw and carried inside; teak timber created lightness in the ceiling and stair system. Brushed steel details represented modern engineering aesthetics.

Interior-Exterior Transition

Wide sliding doors made the garden an extension of the living room. Ceramic floor extended continuously from inside to outside. This continuity enriched life nine months of the year in İzmir's climate.

Garden

The garden, arranged with stone paving and olive trees around the pool, integrated the villa with the surrounding nature. Evening illumination enabled the scenes to change.
