Bostanlı is one of İzmir's most lively and densely inhabited residential districts. Y.S. House succeeded in being a home within this energetic environment that offers a completely different tranquillity inside. Its 220 square metres were organised so a family of four could spend quality time both together and individually.

Project Summary

Location: Bostanlı, İzmir Area: 220 sqm Material Palette: Natural stone / Brass / White marble Year: 2025

Warmth of Earth Tones

The material decision of Y.S. House was built on a "warm earth palette." While white marble floor carries both cleanliness and a cool brightness, natural stone accents (corridor wall, fireplace surround) balanced this coolness. Brass door handles, lighting fixtures, and kitchen details functioned as a "golden thread" in the space: connecting materials that appear unrelated to each other.

Open Social Zone

The ground floor was configured as a single fluid zone: kitchen island, dining table, and seating area. This openness served both spatial generosity and the social dynamics of family life. The kitchen island assumed a central role — from morning breakfast to evening gatherings, it functioned as the heart of the home.

Bedroom Floors: Quiet and Privacy

On upper floors, quiet and privacy were brought to the fore. Children's rooms are adjacent but provided with sufficient sound isolation between them. The master bedroom, with a separate entry corridor, became an independent world encompassing dressing room, work corner, and sleeping zone.
