Mavişehir is a district of İzmir positioned as a modern living hub, notable for its marina and green areas. Atilgan Oasis was conceptualised as an "urban refuge" in this context: the guest opened a door to an environment where they could step away from the city's noise and pace and recharge.

The Oasis Concept: Design Manifesto

The word "oasis" was used both as a concrete and abstract design directive. Concrete dimension: water elements, green walls, shade-creating pergolas, and a cool colour palette. Abstract dimension: the space slows the pace, allows the guest to breathe, and presents two distinct atmospheres by day and night.

Ground floor common areas — lobby, café, pool, and garden section — were planned to construct this "slowing down" narrative. The first contact on entering through the lobby door was established with the sound of water: a small water wall created both coolness and a sense of spiritual cleansing.

Material Language

The combination of natural stone, white plaster, and tropical timber brought the freshness and simplicity evoked by the Mediterranean coast into the interior. Green wall panels provided both aesthetic and bio-climatic contributions (humidity regulation, air quality). Metal details were restricted to matt nickel; an elegant modesty, removed from brightness, was composed.

Room Design

Rooms were designed to establish a strong visual connection with the exterior view and garden. Each room had a private balcony or terrace; these private outdoor areas became an important component of the project's value. Bedrooms were simple and calming; the bathroom, drawing inspiration from the hammam design language, offered a washing experience of almost ceremonial dimension.
