A cheese and charcuterie store is not merely a place that sells products; when correctly designed, it becomes a food culture experience. Peynirci Şarküteri (Menderes, İzmir) successfully achieved this transformation within 180 square metres.

Project Summary

Location: Menderes, İzmir Area: 180 sqm Material Palette: Terrazzo / Blue ceramics / Oak veneer Year: 2026

Concept: The Experience Economy

"The customer comes not to shop but to spend time here" — this sentence formed the design's primary directive. Circulation was configured to enable the customer to see the entirety of the store. At every corner, a different product arrangement, a different scent, a different texture experience was prepared.

Blue Ceramics and Column Design

Blue ceramics is the identity decision of this project. Moving beyond being an ordinary wall cladding, it became the surface of specially designed columns. These columns carried both structural and visual meaning: they organised the store, created corridors, and supported product display shelving.

Terrazzo Floor

Terrazzo floor was chosen: both for its multi-year durability and visual richness. The blue-toned terrazzo pattern established a colour dialogue with the ceramics.
